In this session ‘Be an eSafe Kid – Back to school – Truth or trap?’ students will:
- use critical literacy skills to challenge fake information such as misinformation and disinformation
- identify fake online identities such as impersonator and catfishing accounts
- use strategies to address harmful or dangerous situations online
- identify a variety of support pathways.
Australian Curriculum Outcomes
This presentation will address English and HPE (Health and Physical Education) outcomes including:
- Discuss and interpret health information and messages in the media and internet (ACPPS039)
- Describe and apply strategies that can be used in situations that make them feel uncomfortable or unsafe (ACPPS035)
- Describe how respect, empathy and valuing diversity can positively influence relationships (ACPPS037)
- Investigate community resources and ways to seek help about health, safety and wellbeing (ACPPS053 )
- Practise skills to establish and manage relationships (ACPPS055)
Supervision of students
