Careers
Aurora College's careers program supports students to explore, plan and prepare for their future study, training, and employment pathways. Through a combination of online learning opportunities, mentoring, and individual guidance, studetns are encouraged to make informed decisions about their post-school goals.
How it works
The careers program is delivered through a blend of virtual and in-person opportunities. Students participate in online workshops, webinars, and mentoring sessions with industry representatives and tertiary partners. They also receive personalised guidance from the Careers Adviser to help them identify interests, set goals, and access relevant information about subject selection, university and TAFE options, apprenticeships, and employment.
Benefits for students
Through participation in the careers program, students can:
- explore diverse career and study options
- understand pathways to employment, training, and further education
- build skills in goal-setting and career planning
- connect with professionals and industry mentors
- develop confidence and readiness for life beyond school
The careers program supports our High Potential and Gifted students by fostering students intellectual, creative, and social-emotional potential through purposeful career exploration, problem-solving, and goal setting. Authentic learning experiences and mentoring opportunities empower students to connect their interests with future study and employment pathways.
Partnerships and opportunities
Aurora College collaborates with universities, industry partners, and the NSW Department of Education to provide students with up-to-date information and authentic learning experiences. These partnerships create pathways into fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as emerging industries across New South Wales and beyond.
