Project PLaNET and Literacy and Numeracy coaching

Project PLaNET (Prioritising Literacy and Numeracy Excellence Today) is Aurora College's evidence-informed program designed to strengthen student outcomes in literacy and numeracy. The program combines targeted coaching, structured feedback cycles, and personalised support to help students achieve their academic potential and build confidence in essential skills.

How it works

Students participate in regular online coaching sessions with experienced Aurora College teachers. These sessions focus on:

Literacy and Numeracy coaching is embedded within classroom learning and supported by the school's wider wellbeing and learning programs. Teachers use assessment data to tailor coaching to each students needs, ensuring interventions are relevant, timely, and effective.

Project PLaNET and Literacy and Numeracy coaching align with the NSW Department of Education's High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) Policy by fostering students' intellectual, creative, social-emotional, and physical potential. Through personalised coaching and goal-oriented interventions, students develop cognitive and metacognitive skills that support academic growth and lifelong learning.

Accessing support

Students are invited to participate in Project PLaNET and Literacy and Numeracy coaching based on identified learning needs. Teachers and the Wellbeing Team work closely with students to ensure coaching is targeted, effective, and supports each learner's growth in literacy and numeracy.
